Dubbed the Princess of Africa after her 1990 musical tour of Uganda, Yvonne Chaka Chaka is an internationally acclaimed singer, songwriter and entrepreneur. As a young performer, Yvonne was the first black child to appear on South African television in 1981. Since then she has shared the stage with the likes of Angelique Kidjo, Bono, Annie Lennox, Queen, Miriam Makeba and many others. Yvonne champions and supports numerous charitable initiatives and was handpicked by Nelson Mandela to be the first ambassador for the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund. In 2012, Yvonne received the World Economic Forum Crystal Award, becoming the first woman to do so.
